This image is now burned into my brain

remaining dormant until I masturbate

Yes

Goldblum responds:

i appreciate your honesty

Not too strong on it's own.

Don't get me wrong, I think this looks really cool and all, and it's very atmospheric, but it's also really plain and boring to look at. You mention in the commentary that it could be used as a wallpaper, which I agree with, because it only works well as a background.

I dunno, maybe if you had like a character in front of it or something, then it would add depth to the character and give a hell of a lot more dynamic to the picture in it's current state.

Also, a personal preference - I don't like how the rays are on the side. I've always liked rays drawn in the corner, at the bottom works best in my opinion, like the NG banner.

But yeah, this has a lot of potential, just a lot of it isn't expressed right now.

DM692 responds:

Thanks a lot, that actually really helps. I suppose that it really does feel like it's missing something, so I'll remember that if I do more work like this, I'll have to try and put some sort of subject in it.

Thanks!

Horrifying

I think you're an amazing visual artist, but this, in my opinion is your best. You convey so much meaning and so much emotion through it.

Each time I see it I find it more depressing.

LaserKarl responds:

Thank you very much. This piece was meant to be nothing but negative, so I am very glad you read it as such.

Easily my favourite of yours.

I wish I could rate it higher for effect, because this piece is amazing.

I've always had an attraction to deep sea stuff, and this drawing is rather relaxing. The bottom sand blends in with the water rather nicely, and the little school in the background sets up the atmosphere of the piece very well.

Anyway, the shark. It's excellent, it seems to me that each time I see it, I appreciate it more. The blue/white border gives it a lot of depth and dimension. My favourite part is the light beams, it fits so well with the sea theme.

SeaBoundRhino responds:

Awwww thanks :)

I WANT ONE

An army of these things would be so cool. Or a bath toy marketed towards children infatuated with violence.

But yes, the shading was very spot on, very similar to the zombie drawing with the background and the white outline. My favourite part in this drawing would be the barrel of the laser cannon, it came out looking very JohnnyUtah-esque with the way you used white to make it look reflective. The design is pretty cool, the little circle around the tip is very sci - fi.

The duck itself looks quite cartoony, much like the zombie drawing, like it could be in like a Nickelodeon show.

SeaBoundRhino responds:

AWWWEEESOMEEEE.

Haha, excellent.

It looks really childish and cute, mainly because of the distance between the eyes, the lack of any detail on the eyes (which give it an extremely vacant look) and the drool. These child like elements clash with the nature of the drawing, in which the figure's head and arm are dismembered, creating an ironic effect.

I really like the style of this drawing, the black background and shading fit it perfectly. Rather atmospheric for being so simple.

:3

Excellent.

I found the shading to be the best aspect of this, it really shows off the character, and is done very professionally.
Plus, he has a cool name.

HELL YES

Ookami-Digital-Wolf responds:

Lawliet for the win

Thank you thank you!

Awesome!

I kind of expected a wolf from you though.
Anyway, this is an excellent starting piece, it's not like some of the more awesome stuff you've drawn, but a good introduction to set the bar for your work.

Great job hell yes.
